Kevin was born on April 1st, 1992 and has called Illinois home his entire life. He attended the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign where he earned a bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Secondary Education in 2014. After completing his student teaching at Danville High School, he earned his Illinois Professional Education License: Grades 6-12. He currently teaches Chicago History and AP US Government & Politics at a Chicago Public School, and is the director of the school’s wrestling program.
After college, Kevin was selected to the United States Marine Corps’ Officer Candidate School where he earned a commission as a Second Lieutenant and the MOS of 0302 Infantry Officer. He later deployed to the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force – Crisis Response Africa with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment where he commanded a rifle platoon during Operation Oaken Steel. Upon completion of his active service, he assumed command of the 81mm Mortar Platoon, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, a Reserve unit based out of Ft. Sheridan, IL. He currently serves as the Combined Anti-Armor Platoon Commander for the same battalion and holds the rank of First Lieutenant.
